About Us
The Cranston Residents Association (Cranston RA) is a non-profit organization that professionally manages Century Hall Facility & Park, along with several offsite community features including the Art Park, Windmill, and decorative corners. Cranston RA provides a wide range of sports, fitness, and recreational programs for all ages throughout the year, including a dynamic and engaging Summer Day Camp program.
Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Summer Camp Coordinator to lead our Summer Day Camp program. This leadership role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children, mentoring staff, and delivering high-quality recreation programming in a fun, safe, and energetic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of approximately 7 Camp Leaders
- Foster a positive, supportive, and team-oriented camp culture
- Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all campers
- Support the planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation of daily and weekly camp programming
- Manage program supplies, materials, and facility setup/cleanup
- Lead, prepare and facilitate the Summer Camp Leader training week
- Maintain a comprehensive resource binder for camp operations
- Provide weekly updates and complete monthly and end-of-season reports
- Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, parents, and participants
- Adhere to Cranston RA policies and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum one year of post-secondary education in Recreation, Education, Child & Youth Care, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in day camps or out-of-school care, including program planning within a budget
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is considered an asset
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Physically able to participate in activities (running, lifting, outdoor programming)
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification
- Successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must be 18 years of age or older

Seasonal Landscape & Maintenance Worker

Cranston RA provides a wide range of sports, fitness, and recreational programs for all ages throughout the year, in addition to a robust seasonal landscape program.
Position Overview
This seasonal role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day maintenance of Cranston RA’s facilities, parks, and amenities. The successful candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining clean and safe spaces, and works well both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining facilities, grounds, and equipment
- Perform summer landscaping duties including weeding, planting, mowing and watering
- Ensure safe working conditions and follow all safety procedures
- Monitor housekeeping and safety standards
- Follow Cranston RA policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Represent Cranston RA professionally when interacting with residents and the public
- Communicate effectively and courteously with staff, residents, and visitors
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Available full-time from mid-May to late August
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 60 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in hot and/or wet conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Valid Alberta Driver’s License (asset)
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
