December 18th 2020

Good Afternoon Cranston,

The COVID-19 Outdoor Winter Recreation Guidelines were published this morning, by the Government of Alberta and AHS. The Century Hall Team has made the decision to implement the following when using the Outdoor Ice Rinks and amenities in order to follow all AHS Restrictions:

As of Monday, December 21st 2020, Hockey Rink Nets will be taken off the ice until further notice. This is to ensure there is absolutely no scrimage play taking place, as per AHS Guidelines.

Effective immediately when a Cranston Resident books two time slots in one day, the second time slot will be automatically deleted, with no notice to the resident.

There is to be no group socializing in the park. Century Hall is not meant to be a place to meet your neighbors for gathering. This is something that will be difficult to monitor so we ask that all residents please respect this.

A reminder that guests and non-residents are not permitted at this time.
All Century Hall indoor amenities, including the skate change room will remain closed regardless of weather. Benches are available outside for changing skates. Washrooms are open (masks are required).

Century Hall Fire Pits will remain closed at this time.

Please view the full list of COVID-19 Rink Rules & Regulations prior to booking your ice time slot at https://cranstonra.ca/drop-in-schedules/. The COVID-19 Outdoor Winter Recreation Guidelines published by AHS can be found at https://www.alberta.ca/assets/documents/covid-19-information-guidance-for-winter-recreation.pdf

Failure to follow the rules will seriously impact our ability to operate. The Century Hall Team wants to thank all residents for their ongoing cooperation and support.

December 10th, 2020

In light of the new COVID-19 restrictions implemented by the Government of Alberta, Century Hall operations will be impacted as follows.

• The Century Hall Tool Shed will be closed until further notice.

• The Hockey and Pleasure Rink will remain open with limited capacities. Bookings must be made online no more than 24 hours in advance at https://cranstonra.ca/drop-in-schedules/.

• Registrants must remain on the rink they are booked for (If you are booked for the hockey rink you must only use the hockey rink, and vice versa). Registrants will only be permitted entrance at the time of their booking. Absolutely no hockey games are allowed. The full list of Rink Rules and Regulations can be found at https://cranstonra.ca/drop-in-schedules/.

• All Century Hall indoor amenities, including the skate change room will remain closed, with the exception of washroom use (masks required). Benches are available outside for changing into and out of skates.

• The Century Hall tobogganing hill will remain open.

• No guests are permitted in the park.

• Please remember to complete your Cranston COVID-19 Health Assessment Form. Please show us a screenshot of the completed form as you arrive.

• There is to be no group socializing in the park.

We would like to thank all of you who have been so patient with us through this constantly changing situation. We understand the frustrations of not being able to just come and skate at anytime, or to play a game of hockey with friends. We appreciate all the efforts that are being made to follow these strict guidelines. Although we have staff onsite to monitor the park, we are relying on all of our residents to help keep everyone safe and the park open. Failure to follow the rules will seriously impact our ability to operate.

These guidelines could change at any time based on guidance from AHS. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

March 26th, 2020

Hello Residents, We are continuously monitoring and evaluating COVID-19 developments. We will be following the advice of Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, and aligning with the City of Calgary Recreation Centres in terms of when we will open again. We will continue to complete community maintenance, maintain the facility and staff will be working to facilitate day to day operations including bookkeeping functions, and planning programming so we are prepared once we reopen.

Programs & Room Rentals
We have made the tough decision to cancel our Spring programs that were scheduled to begin the week of April 14th. If you are registered in an upcoming program, you will be receiving an email from our team in the next week regarding your refund.
Room rentals scheduled till April 30th will be cancelled. If your booking falls outside of this time frame, we will not be contacting you at this time, however as the situation continues to evolve please be prepared that room rentals beyond April 30th may still be cancelled.

Annual Fee Payments

We’ve received a few questions regarding the annual RA fees because of the facility closure. While the building can’t be accessed by residents at this time, as a Residents Association we have obligations to consider and manage as this situation remains fluid. We continue to assess the business, including financial operations, but it is too early in this public health event to know the total impacts. Our fiscal responsibility to the community is to ensure the long-term financial health of the non-profit association funded by you, the residents.
In recognition of these unprecedented events, the deadline to pay Annual Resident Association Annual Fees has been extended to June 1st, 2020. Thank you to those of you who have already paid. To limit social gathering, we have provided multiple ways to pay – online, by mail, over the phone or email transfer. Please visit https://cranstonra.ca/membership-online-payments/ for more details. Additionally, we do offer payment plans for anyone who wishes to make such arrangements. Please contact us at [email protected] Once it’s safe to re-open, residents will then be welcome to pay in-person at Century Hall and visit us then.

Thank you to our residents for your commitment to our community. Together, we will get through these extraordinary circumstances. We will continue to provide updates as they become available. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support during this time. If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected] or 403-781-6614.

Cranston Residents Association Management Team

March 13th, 2020

Hello Cranston Residents,

We just want to let everyone know that we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation very closely and will provide updates, as needed.

The health and safety of our residents, program participants, staff, and instructors are of the highest importance to the Cranston Residents Association. Therefore, in addition to our regular building cleaning and sanitization, we have implemented the following steps:

  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting protocols of high-volume touch areas (for example, but not limited to, doorknobs, light switches, pin pads, gym equipment etc.).
  • Asking any staff or instructors who feel unwell to stay home.

All rentals and programs at this time will continue to run as scheduled.  Should anything change we will reach out to all program registrants and facility renters.   Any program questions can be direct to [email protected]  and any rental questions can be directed to [email protected]

While our facility currently remains open we encourage you to pay for your Annual Fees by using many of our remote options. Over the phone by calling 403-781-6614 ext 0, online at https://cranstonra.ca/membership-online-payments/ or by email transfer to [email protected]

As per the Alberta Government’s Public Health restriction on mass gathering,  we will unfortunately have to cancel our Eggstravaganza Event to be held on April 4th, 2020.

The Cranston Residents Association requests all residents to help reduce to the spread by:

  • using good hygiene practices, such as frequent handwashing
  • covering coughs and sneezes
  • avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • staying at home and away from others if you feel ill
  • if you have symptoms, stay home and call Health Link 811 for instructions

Rest assured, we are monitoring the situation and will continue to communicate with any updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
